About Grace Biblical Institute of Theology and Graduate School (GBIT)

The Grace Biblical Institute of Theology and Graduate School (GBIT) for Biblical higher Education is a charitable/non-profit Christian Education institution committed to academic excellence, intellectual freedom, ethical conduct, and moral integrity, made of an independent accreditation body specializing in accordance with and according to the rules, regulations and guidelines of the International Association of Bible Colleges and Christian Schools in biblical ministry formation and professional leadership education.  GBIT exists to enhance the quality and credibility of higher educational institution that engages students in biblical, transformational, experiential, and missional higher education through accreditation, professional development, and collaborative engagements benefiting the Kingdom of Christ.

It is our belief that "The local church should have no approving agency over its ministry except for the Holy Scriptures”; however, to ensure that there is a “watchman on the wall” we are Independently Accredited and adhere to the rules, regulations and guidelines of the International Association of Bible Colleges and Christians Schools.  We believe this position to be consistent with the Scriptures and with our Christian Episcopal/Pentecostal/Non-Denominational distinctives . . .  A study of history would reveal that educational institutions begin to waver when they become more interested in what the world thinks of them than what God insists upon. . . .  For the conventional accredited college, the approval of an accrediting agency becomes its 'life’s blood.' . . .  “It is our firm conviction that the 'life blood' of a Christian college should be nothing other than the living Word of God itself – the Holy Scriptures."

At GBIT our desire is to provide a Christ-centered education for our church leadership. In other words, we want the Bible to be the central theme of all of their education and to fulfill our God-given mandate in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” We want all subjects to be measured by the standard of God’s Word and to teach our church leadership creationism, morals, ethics, and what it is to be an Acts 2:42 Christian, “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers.”
